FIXME: Page under construction.
I will add to this as time permits; please bear with me. The page is intended to (approximately) reproduce the content originally posted at (now defunct) http://home.att.net/~perlspinr/build_platforms/cygwin/libversioning.html, at one time recommended by Charles Wilson as the definitive reference for the DLL version specification stratagem to be adopted by MinGW.org.
- Entry Points
- These are externally accessible functions or variables exported by the DLL.
- The Interface
- This is the set of all exported functions and variables in a given version of the DLL.
- The Interface Version
- This is a single valued integer, derived from the libtool version triplet, indicating the level of compatibility with any specific libtool version of the DLL.
